CRAFORD Andrew (CRAWFORD?)
Probably born around 1600

In 1625 it is recorded that Andrew Craford, Miller, was in possession as tenant of *Lord Claneboyne, of Manorial Mill and lands, later comprising the subsequent estate of Crawfordsburn in Co. Down.

The relationship between Andrew Craford and William Crawford is not definitely established, but is assumed to have been close, possibly father and son. There is an indication that William had a brother Andrew, who was father to William's daughter-in-law Jane.

There is also reference to Anne Arbuckle née Crawford whose daughter Alice married a Gordon. Anne was said to be daughter of John Crawford and niece and heir of David Crawford of Florida Manor.

Since we already have Anne McCullagh née Crawford, daughter to John in this tree in the appropriate time frame, these three, with Anne's daughter Alice, were probably part of another Crawford line.

WARNING ! It should be noted that the early generations of the CRAWFORD tree are comprised of a patchwork built of snippets of information, which have been put together (with approximated dates) to form a logical whole. NO CREDENCE SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE ACCURACY OF INFORMATION WHERE THIS WARNING IS SHOWN!

*It should be noted that Sir James Hamilton of Killyleagh and Bangor, Serjeant at law and Privy Councillor to James I was created by patent dated 4 May 1622, 1st Viscount Claneboyne. His son and heir James, 2nd Viscount Claneboye was created Earl of Clanbrassil, 4th March 1647 and was father of Henry, 2nd Earl of Clanbrassil who died d.s.p. 1675
