CRAWFORD Hugh of Orangefield
Born ?1750s Died 15th November 1819

Hugh was a merchant, banker and shipowner of Belfast and later Orangefield which he purchased Orangefield in 1814 and thereby started the line known as the 'CRAWFORD's of Orangefield'

He had business premises in the city in both North Street and Rosemary Lane and from 1803 leased property on the Co Antrim side of the city, being "Town Park, on the east side of New Road to the Lodge by the Cross Loning" from Henry JOY. He also leased from 1807, lands "formerly known as Love's Farm" and additionally 8 acres, 1rood, 35 perches in the New Inclosure near Belfast from the Chichester Estate. He was a founding partner in the banking firm of Gordon and Co. from 1808. He married early in 1783 Elizabeth QUINN who was born 1758 and died 22 March 1823. They had at least five sons and six daughters

He is buried at Knockbreda
