MACAULEY Emily
Born September 1827 Died 30 March 1899

Daughter of Robert MACAULEY of Larne and of Glenoak, Crumlin, Co Antrim, by his wife Helena WHITE (who married Robert in 1807 and was daughter of Jasper WHITE of Limerick), Emily married William SHARMAN-CRAWFORD (sixth son, ninth child of William and Mabel SHARMAN-CRAWFORD of Crawfordsburn and Rademon, Co Down), in Larne on 27 June 1854

As a point of interest Helena WHITE was descended from Hugh CRAWFORD of Orangefield*, whose daughter Martha married William WHITE.

These two had seven children:William, Helena, Jasper, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Jane.

Jasper married Helen Creagh and had four children, William, Jasper, John and Helena who married Robert Macauley and produced Emily named on this page.

*Author's Note:

I have been unable to trace the parentage of this Hugh CRAWFORD, who I would presume would have been born circa 1710-25. Possibly he was another brother to David and John, (who I have speculatively placed in the second generation of the Crawford Tree), or perhaps a cousin.

I have found reference in the 'History of the Belfast Banking Co.' To another Hugh as being 'of the private Belfast Bank 'Gordon & Co'. During a period covering 1861 - possibly a great-grandson of this Hugh - grandson of Arthur?

It is interesting to note the banking connections in the family.
