Robert Francis of Tully Lodge, Co Kildare, was christened at Old Court Chapel, Strangford Co Down on 2 May 1847.
The second son of the Rev. John Frederick GORDON (Rector of Anahilt, Co Down by his wife Dorothea Josepha (eldest daughter of Alexander Miller of Downpatrick Co Down), he married Alice Aimee SHARMAN-CRAWFORD on 16th January 1879 at Stephen's Dublin.
Robert Francis and Alice Aimee had one daughter Alice Mary Dorothea who married her cousin, Lt Col Rt Hon. Alexander Robert Gisborne GORDON.
