John CRAWFORD of Crawfordsburn and of Rademon Co Down, J.P. son of James CRAWFORD and Mabel JOHNSTON, married January 1774, Maria KENNEDY (sometimes listed as Mary). Maria was daughter of Hugh KENNEDY of Cultra Manor, Holywood, Co Down.

They had two children of whom the son, Arthur Johnston predeceased his father, leaving by arrangement with his father, (see Arthur Johnston), his sister, Mabel Fridiswid as sole heiress.

John Crawford was an engineer by profession.

On his death he was buried in the former Johnston family vault at the Kilmore Church of Ireland graveyard, Carnacally, co Down.
