John Sharman-Crawford of Crawfordsburn and Rademon co Down, J.P. and D.L. was a Major of the North Down Militia and, in 1839,.was High Sheriff of co Down, like his father William before him.

The eldest son, second child of William and Mabel, he inherited the Crawfordsburn and Rademon Estates from his father , but these passed to his younger brother Arthur Johnston when John died unmarried in 1884. Arthur Johnston was the sole Exor of John's will which was proved at Belfast on 18 August 1884.

A reference to letters from John Sharman-Crawford appears in the Gosford Papers

He died at Crawfordsburn and was buried in the family vault at Kilmore on 20 June 1884 and his Will was proved 18th August 1884 at Belfast.

There was a portrait at Crawfordsburn, but its present whereabouts are unknown.
